Performance Task (Summary in G.R.A.S.P.S. form): (T)
Goal: To educate people on the main events of the Revolutionary War.
Role: You are a film maker trying to make a documentary that chronicles the main events of the Revolution.
Audience: The board of directors of the History Channel.
Situation: The History Channel is looking for a good documentary the Revolutionary War.
Product/Presentation: Short documentary on the Revolutionary War.
Standards (six categories for each rubric)

Presentation Rubric:
The presentation will be graded on enthusiasm(25%), comprehension(20%), preparation(15%),volume(15%), listening skills(15%) and the ability to
speak clearly(10%).
Product Rubric:
The iMovie will be graded on content(30%), requirements(25%), originality(15%), attractiveness(15%), sources(10%)and permissions(5%).

• Slideshow-Students will analyze the changes in America during the Revolution.
• Imovie- Students will make a film exhibiting the characteristics of the Revolutionary War
• Essay in Google docs- Students will evaluate the long term effects of the American Revolution.
• Interactive wiki space- Students will go on their wiki and re-enact/recreate historical events(ex. the signing of the Declaration of Independence).
• Comics-Students will make a historical fictional comic or a real event that took place during the Revolution.
• Fake trial- Students will recreate/reenact trials that took place during the Revolution.

• Pre- Asessment: Survey-ask questions about the American Revolution. If they answer accurately then move on, otherwise they will spend time on it.
• Checking for Understanding: Index cards, exit cards, quizzes, cubing, RSQC2 in groups, decisions, I have a question who has the answer
• Timely Feedback: Self, peer, teacher

Task Description: (T)
The History Channel board of directors is looking for a new documentary over the American Revolution. You are an aspiring film maker trying to get your documentary accepted by the board. The competition is stiff and you have a limited amount of time to get the project done. If you are to make a name for yourself in the film industry you must get noticed. Making this documentary could be the chance for your big break. Make a documentary that covers the main events of the Revolutionary War in an attractive and original way. Originality and creativity will go a long with the board of directors. Do not be afraid to take chances and put your most innovative ideas forward. There are plenty of other filmmakers who are coming up with original ways to film their documentary, what is going to separate your work from theirs?
